Above the Sea Pottery operates out of a small home studio overlooking the Salish Sea on Vancouver Island, BC.  Resident potters are Krista & Sara (mother & daughter) who started playing with clay about five years ago and very quickly got hooked—as it turns out, making beautiful things out of mud is a pretty magical experience.

Our pieces are inspired by the natural beauty of the forests, coastlines, and quiet corners of the island we call home. We work in small batches, creating mostly functional pottery that’s meant to be used, loved, and maybe even a little imperfect—just like nature.  No two pieces are exactly alike, and that’s part of the magic – each item telling its own story, shaped by heart and hand.

When we're not at the wheel in our little studio, or working at our “actual jobs”, you’ll probably find us beach combing, forest wandering, or spending time enjoying island life with family & friends.
